A Few Shameless Plugs & A Little Rant

I've talked briefly a couple times about Benevolent Street, the upcoming new horror website that i'm gonna be writing a bit for in the near future. The official website is still under construction, but the Myspace page is now up and running! So check that out and add us as a friend! Benevolent Street will be run by my buddy Tony, who currently writes for the awesome website Fridaythe13thfilms.com, which is really the only website you need to go to for all the Friday info you can stomach. So take a look at that too.

Also, if ya haven't yet, add my personal page on Myspace! Would love to talk to all of you and get to know the people that read this blog. Let's face it, we could all use some friends!

I started up a little Amazon associates store, which you can check out here. You can browse through my entire collection of horror dvds and pick up copies of your own without even having to navigate over to Amazon! You can also check out and pick up the hottest new releases in horror. The page will be on the side bar to your right at all times, so give it a gander sometime. And it's not just a shamless way to make miniscule back end profits! I've been looking for a way to show my horror dvd collection for some time now, and I think this is the perfect way. And if I make a few bucks off it, so be it!

On a side note, I just read some pretty disturbing news (yes, more disturbing than that story about the guy who beheaded the other guy on that bus) regarding the remake of Oldboy, which is pretty ironic given I just watched that film the other night (not for the first time!). Apparently the latest rumor is that Steven Spielberg wants to remake Oldboy. Alright, Spielberg rocks (or at least used to), so that's all well and good. Even if it's the totally wrong material for him. And even if Oldboy should NEVER be remade. But at least it's in good hands, right? Well, it's the second part of the story that really bothered me. He wants Will Smith to play the lead role!! That's probably the most horrible idea i've heard since that Ashton Kutcher's gonna be the new Ash rumor from a few years back. If there's any one movie that should NEVER EVER EVER get the remake treatment, it's Oldboy. That movie is an absolutely picture perfect masterpiece and there's just no way anyone could ever even dream of making it even better. And Will Smith/Steven Spielberg is most definetly a bark up the wrong tree. By the way, after my latest viewing, i'm now wholeheartedly convinced that Oldboy is the greatest film ever made. If you haven't seen it, you're in for a real treat and I truly envy you as i'd love to be able to see it for the first time again. End rant.
