While the awards will not be televised or handed out in a public presentation as they have in years past, Fangoria is still keeping the Chainsaw Awards alive and the 2009 nominees have just been announced in the latest issue, #282, of the magazine. I figured i'd give everyone a chance to hand in their votes, whether you subscribe or buy the magazine or not, so make your picks for each of these categories and e-mail them to postalzone@starloggroup.com. Make sure to get your e-mail in by April 27th, as that is the last date they will be accepted. The winners will be announced in Fango #285, available in June. Since i'm a subscriber (thanks Jen!), i'll also post the winners when I receive that issue!
On to the nominees! Also feel free to leave a comment with your choices as i'd like to hear them. The ones in bold/CAPS are my personal picks .....

Michael Ripper
Glad to see some Strangers love! I thought everyone hated that movie. I've always thought it a pretty damn good horror flick.
Michael Ripper, interesting. I'll admit, I never heard of him until I just looked him up =X. But I guess i'm allowed, since i'm not a Brit!
I`m not suprised that you haven`t heard about Michael Ripper. He played minor roles in over 25 of Hammer Horrors "biggest" movies, but I feel he never got the credit he deserved. A great actor.
You should check out more Hammer Horror Johnny. A lot of great 60 & 70`s horror flicks in their catalogue.
I've been meaning to check out some Hammer Horror flicks for years now but just have never gotten around to it. I even bought that Hammer collection DVD set like 3 years ago and have still not watched a single one! I'll have to get on that.
You should do that... Alot of good movies in that box-set.
She
The Nanny
Dracula
One Million Years B.C
Frankenstein Created woman
Devil Rides Out
Scars Of Draula
and
To The Devil a Daughter
is excellent movies. Worth checking out.
Glad to see some love for "Cloverfield." You are a little "Stuck" on "Let the Right One In" though. I would give best actress to Naomi Watts and best screen play to "Stuck", that was a very well made black-comedy. It is funney that they put "Cloverfield" under best score, since there really was not one. For worest film I would say "The Happening." Totally agree with Neil Marshall, Doomsday was a mistep but I have alot of faith in him.
Hey, Let The Right One In was the best horror flick of the year. It's only right that I nominate it for every category! I did like Stuck quite a bit but better screenplay than LTROI? I don't think so.
