It was in Freddy's Dead : The Final Nightmare, the sixth installment in the franchise, that Freddy Krueger uttered the now infamous line "Every town has an Elm Street!" It's an iconic quote, but is it true? All these years i've wondered, is Freddy lying to me? How can every single town out there have an Elm Street?! He's gotta be pulling my leg! But ya know, i've lived in only one town my whole life and guess what? It's got an Elm Street in it! So i've always kinda wondered in the back of my mind all these years if maybe he really was speaking the truth....
I want you guys to act as my MythBusters crew here. Does your town have an Elm Street or no? Leave a comment and let me know! Lets get to the bottom of this once and for all!

Well over here in the UK, my old hometown of Middlesbrough had an Elm Street right over the road from our cinema, which was a real treat for us Uber horror geeks. As comes progress both have now been demolished however...
My town has an Elm Ave. That's close enough, right?
My town doesn't have one. Guess I'm escaping the wrath of Freddy.
My current home town of Madison, WI definitely does have an Elm Street. But I can tell you that my birthplace of Monticello, WI, does not have an Elm Street (probably because it's really small though).
Nope. There's a "royal elm road" but not an Elm Street in Calgary.

So I guess most towns do, but not all. Freddy, you lying sumbitch!

Ps; you're an ass. I totally did look.
Sheesh, if you can't trust a child murdering psychopath, who can you trust?!
Amen!
There's an Elm Street and Elm Ct. in Ft. Collins, CO , an Elm Ave. and Elm Rd. in Estes Park, CO, and also an Elm Ave. and Elm Ct. in Loveland, CO-- yeah I know, only one is technically an "Elm St." but still...
My parents moved us to a house on Elm Street when I was five, they still live there.
I remember when I saw the movie at a friend's house when I was 7 or 8 and came home and told my mom we needed to move...
maybe freddy meant it figuratively or something.
My hometown Paso Robles, California has an Elm Street, and it's a residential neighborhood. I passed by it often as a kid, and every time I did, it reminded me of the Nightmare movies. When I was little I used to wonder if the people living there were ever terrorized by Freddy. I am 28 now and to this day I have never been down that street. Not out of fear, of course (well, not anymore anyway, lol) but simply because there has never been a reason to go down it.
Would you be willing to finally take a walk down that street and take a picture of the street sign to prove that you conquered your childhood fears once and for all? ;)

I live in santa maria, ca. Which is about 45 min from Paso robles, and we have an elm street. In fact, its the next street over from mine. I've walked down the street n the only weird thing is that I never see the people who live in those house come outside, or drive off to work. Questionable? Idk. Could just be me. I'm over thinking it now....
