Is There Anything Better Than Getting Free Shit In The Mail?

A couple weeks ago I won a book called Tales of the Sisters Kane in a contest that Carl over at I Like Horror Movies was running and I just got it today in the mail and it's actually a pretty cool little book, signed by author Christy Kane to boot. It's basically a Tim Burton-esque collection of stories told in the form of poems about a sisterhood of dolls who all learn valuable life lessons through their misfortunes, such as slamming their hands in pianos or losing their fingers to the wrath of a sewing machine. Pretty bizarre and unique book that I think the girlfriend will enjoy. But the reason i'm making this post is because there was a sticker inside the book advertising a short film based off of one of the poems in the book called Callalilly that I just checked out and wanted to spread the word on. It was advertised as being presented by the Chiodo Brothers and I thought no way, it couldn't be THOSE Chiodo Bros, but it is! This little short is directed by Stephen Chiodo, who has directed only one other film in his career .....

Huge fan of that film so I had to check this one out and i'm glad I did. Callalilly is the tale of a young doll named, naturally, Callalilly. Callalilly longs to master the fine art of tickling the ivorys (that's playing the piano, to you) but she just can't seem to get it down. Her anger grows and grows until she eventually commits a "temper crime" that leaves her changed for life. But she learns a valuable lesson from her misdeeds, so all is well!
