My Evening With Kevin Smith Brings You Our Next Contest!

So Jen got me tickets (as an early birthday present) to go see An Evening With Kevin Smith at Carnegie Hall in NYC, which took place this past Wednesday. I wasn't planning on posting about it on here as it's a little off topic but the night provided a prize to giveaway for a new contest so I thought posting said contest would also give me the opportunity to talk about the night a little bit. I'll keep it short.

For those that have never seen the DVD's, 'An Evening With' is a one man show of sorts that Kevin Smith does around the world from time to time. It's basically a long (3 hours on this night) question and answer session where an audience member asks a simple question, Kevin responds with a half hour long story from his life experiences that answers the simple question, among many other things, and so on. It's highly entertaining and interesting and i've always loved the Evening With DVD's and thus was incredibly excited when Jen presented me with two expensive tickets to the much higher class than myself Carnegie Hall to go see the show live and in person. In short, it was the best birthday gift i've ever received. Smith totally killed and rocked the house as usual and it was incredibly surreal to be sitting so close to him and the stage. I really felt like I was a part of something special. All of his family and friends (people i've gotten to know through his books) were in attendance (daughter even intro'ed him) and Smith himself was very nervous due to the fact that this was, afterall, Carnegie fucking Hall! He remedied this by slapping on a bathrobe as soon as he came out so that he'd feel more comfortable and at home! At the end of the show, he walked to the back of the stage, held up his cell phone, and took a picture of the Carnegie crowd giving him a standing ovation. It was clearly a monumental day in his life and he made it quite the memorable and kickass day for all those in attendance too. So thank you Kevin Smith and thank you Jen (my Jen, not Kev's Jen).

But enough of me going on, you guys just want free shit, right!? Jen got really good (and as I mentioned, expensive) tickets that placed us on the first raised balcony that forms a sort of U around the stage. It's really hard to explain but just know that if I were to jump off this balcony, I could've landed right on Kevin Smith without doing too much harm to myself or him. We were that close to the man. But anyway, since these were good seats, there was a nice little promotional poster for the show on each on them, for the seat occupier to take home. I overhead some dude saying that these same posters were also being sold for $10 in the lobby, so this was pretty cool as I always love free goodies (especially when most others have to pay for them!). Well after the show, as people were filing out, we realized that a bunch of folks either just didn't care or forgot to take their posters with him, so we ended up snatching up 6 or 7 of these bad boys and I figured there's gotta be a few Kevin Smith fans who read this blog so why not put one up for grabs on here. Sure it's not horror related but I have no other prizes at the moment to giveaway and I don't think anyone's gonna complain about free shit, horror or not!

So here's what it look likes (measures approx. 18"x24") :
