Discussion of the Week - Halloween Costumes

It's getting to be about that time that we're all gonna have to start putting some thought into this....

If you're still into dressing up, what do you plan on being for Halloween this year?

Now i'm past the point of trick or treating (only because it isn't really socially acceptable to do so at the age of 23), but I still like to dress up to hand out candy to the kids/prowl around the yard scaring them - i'll never be too old for that. While I usually just slap something together out of masks and costumes that I already have laying around the house, due to having a lack of money, I plan on having a little bit to spare come this Halloween (got a job!) and I intend on celebrating the day proper - in a full head and body costume. Yes, i'm speaking of that amazing Leprechaun costume I posted about a couple weeks back....

That's right, I will be masquerading around as a 6 foot tall Warwick Davis this Halloween - at least that's the current plan and will probably remain the plan as I really don't see any costume ever catching my eye more than this one. My second choice would be Michael Myers, but it's nearly impossible to find a quality Myers mask for under $150. So Leprechaun it will most likely be and whenever I finally get the costume in my hands, you guys will be the first to get a sneak peek!

As for Jen, i've got my sights set on the 'Sexy Wednesday Addams' costume, although it remains to be seen if she'll be with me on that one. I feel a little strange that I want her to dress up as a scantily clad cleavage out version of a character that was never depicted past the early teen years, but then again I was also delighted to see a grown up Jamie Lloyd bare all in the Halloween redux, so I guess nothing's sacred anyways. Or maybe i'm just a total creep....

Leave a comment and let me know what/who you plan on being this Halloween!

Well every year my friends and I have a Halloween party. This year we have a broad theme of Comic book Characters. So the hubby and I will be going as Tony Stark and Pepper Pots. Not very scary actually but it seems fitting for us.

Next year I hope we do the Undead Wild West theme. I want to wear my mad scientist costume again!

I hope you posst some pictures in the Leprechaun outfit!! Mutant Midgets FTW!!

I dig the Leprechaun costume! I was thinking of going as the slap chop/sham-wow guy, but after he got beat up by that hooker.

I used to have a really good Myers mask, and while it doesn’t look so great in the photo, it is much better than 95% of the masks that I have seen (including some of the mad expensive ones)…and I worked at the biggest major Halloween store for a few years, so I have seen a few. It is also claimed to be made from the same mold as the Shatner one too.

I still have a pretty kick ass jump suit, but the mask deteriorated from old age and I stuck it on top of a pole near my dumpster!

Ah, the pressure is on. I'm not sure! My office does a big costume party but nothing sexy is allowed, so that rules out a chunk of women's costumes online.

I'm tempted to bust out an older costume, which is gold lame everything and a gold shovel (gold digger), but after Kanye West's VMAs debacle, I don't know if I even want to do that :P

Here's a coupon for 10% off $50+ at BuyCostumes if it helps: http://www.fabuloussavings.com/online/us/buycostumes/

Cool costumes indeed. And hey, they are costumes, for fantasy. Let Jen be your Wednesday.

Not sure if I am gonna dress up, as we will be in Flordia for Halloween. Might just bring a tee or something appropriate.

Wish I could tho! :)

I WAS gonna be Buffalo Bill from Silence Of The Lambs complete with lip gloss, fur patch(down there, I was gonna wear skin colored tights), and boombox with "Goodbye Horses" on it.

Alas, I must work that evening so I think I'll be a pig-faced nurse from THAT episode of the Twilight Zone. Might be a little more appropriate.

Cins - Oh, there will be pictures!

Matt - While that one does look pretty bad in the picture, it is still much better than some of the stuff i've seen! There's some truly horrible Myers masks out there. I might have to do a post on that!

Shayna - Thanks for the coupon! Kanye West is the ultimate douchebag, for the record. Although he's done a whole lot of stupid shit in the past, this one might take the cake. If MTV had any class, they would ban him from all future awards show.

Mike - Love the Buffalo Bill idea! I however do not love the fact that you have to work on Halloween. Sacrilege!

I make my costume every year-- raised that way, and now I'm too cheap to buy one. ;)

I'm going to be a jazz/ faux VooDoo zombie. Replete with cane and top hat. Then I'm taking the sibling spawn trick-or-treating. I also trick-or-treat. I am 32.

Halloween ROCKS.
