Photobucket

Every self respecting Halloween aficionado worth his weight in razor blade filled caramel apples needs a calendar counting down to the big day and the fine folks over at Inky Dinky have been kind enough to save you the trouble of whipping out your wallet to get one. They realize times are tough these days and want to give you their very own Halloween 2009 Countdown Calendar for FREE! But only one of you guys is gonna be so lucky and you only have through this Sunday the 27th to enter - reason being that we want to get this calendar into your hands by the 1st of October. Before I tell ya all the details, lets take a look at this bad boy in all its glory!

"Count the days down
one by one
from the first
to thirty-one
Living, dead & in-between
all come out on Halloween"

Inky-dinky introduces something wickedly clever for one of our favorite holidays: A Halloween Countdown Calendar.

Open the paper gates of the cemetery and step into a darkly droll world of stylish and sinister characters strolling the moonlit grounds of a graveyard.

For each day in October, open a die-cut window and read a story about this macabre cast of the recently deceased.

The calendar measures 12 x 16 unfolded and can be wall mounted or sit up on your table top as a decorative Halloween tableau.

Want it? Here's all ya have to do! Leave a comment on this post telling me what you plan on doing in the month of October to get yourself all into the Halloween spirit. BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS, or else I won't be able to contact you if you win!!! And that's all ya have to do, folks. Contest open to residents of the United States and Canada only. You have through this Sunday to enter, so hurry on up!

Big thanks to John over at Inky Dinky for providing this awesome prize!

I'm going to hang purple lights around my apartment and once it gets dark, from now until Halloween, the only thing I'll use to light my apt will be the purple lights and candles, for the classic spooky Halloween glow...

Awesome, Lisa. Nothing beats a room lit up only by Halloween lights. I do the same thing around Christmas time, with Christmas lights of course.

Gonna hunt down all the local Halloween stores to find new decorations for the apartment. Everything we find stays up year round...not just Halloween. carve a bunch of awesome pumpkins. We try to watch at least one horror movie a night leading up till the 31st...and then it's my friend Cris' birthday/Halloween costume party on Halloween night. I love October.

Besides the usual of decorating our place, watching a plethora of horror flicks and blogging a month's worth of Halloween fun, we are also going to be experiencing Universal's Halloween Horror Nights & Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, both for the first time. Sounds like an awesome October to me!

I live around a lot of children and am going to prepare my two story house as a walk in haunted house. There will be bodies hanging from the ceiling in one of the up stairs rooms that will swing back and forth. I've got a kitchen full of cooking limbs. A bathroom where the faucet goes on & off when someone walks by it and the shower turns red. My children will be among the walking dead going through the house spooking their friends and I will be giving tours. It runs ever other hour so that my own will get their trick or treatin' in this year. Carmageddon1@yahoo.com

I am going to film my own horror host show. It is MST3k meets Chiller theater. Then I am going to try and do what I did last year and thats watch 31 horror films in 31 days. And finally decorate the house and yard. Last year I took my daughters outdoor play house and turned it into a haunted house on the front lawn.

We have a Halloween party every October in our unfinished basement which is perfect to decorate. We've already started but we have more Halloween decor then most people have for all holidays put together. We also watch our fave Horror movies every weekend in October. My husband and I started a collection back when we got engaged.
To Colengal - styrafoam headstones can be fun to make. We found it easier just to cut it into a fun shape, spray paint it and brush on details vs. carving details. Good luck if you decide to give it a try.

Well we decided that we are going to be pirates for halloween this year so I will probably spend all of october making the 6 costumes for our family. I am not a very fast sewer so it will probably take me the whole month with me finishing that day.

I'm going to stay home, order some pizza and have a horror movie marathon beginning with the much anticipated Trick'R'Treat film.

I'm going to the Howl and Yowl at our local dog rescue shelter. Our dog loves to dress up in costume, bob for hot dogs, participate in the howl contest and walk in the treat walk. The proceeds go to the shelter and its always a good time.

Every year we set up a BIG Halloween display in our front yard. This year we have 8 thousand more lights then last year. for a total of 55 thousand lights!!!!! and all the lights flash to Halloween music, Thriller, Monster Mash, Adams Family, ect. Its a big production we do every year. Its ALOT of work, but so worth it when people drive by and tell us how cool it is!!!

As with every year, I will lurk any and all stores that have even the slightest hint of Halloween merch - I will watch anything and everything Halloween related on TV, that is including anything with ghosts, Halloween specials, horror movies (of course!), and anything else that has something to do with the holiday. I will go to as many haunted houses and farm type of places and go in corn mazes, and go on haunted hayrides, and enjoy warm apple cider with some sort of rum in it the entire time! There is much more, but I think that is good for now!

Well...I'm deployed to Kuwait so this year all I'll probably be doing is watching some Halloween movies and maybe doing some crafts! Normally I go all out with decorations, haunted houses, etc etc.

My plan is to see 31 horror flicks in 31 days....The main 4 weeks are broken down into categories
Week one is Zombie Week
Week two is Madmen/ Slasher Week
Week three is Monster Week
Week four is Satan's Week capped off by a viewing of The Exorcist.

I'll try to get my decorations (those in the house & on the front porch) up by October 1. I'll watch horror movies during the month. On Halloween, I dress up and have a TON of Halloween candy (mostly that I bought at 75%-90% off the past Halloween and stuck in the freezer for the next year), boiled egg ghosts I make every year, and maybe some chips or stuff. I play scary music on CDs for the Trick-or-Treaters, and go out. Lots of kids say mine is the best house in town. I know its the best on the block, as the other neighbors are too darn cheap to give out anything! Then, for us, I make a jack-o-lantern shaped pizza w/ cheddar cheese and black olives, roll-out sugar cookies in Halloween shapes, pumpkin pie, and maybe squash or butternut squash soup. Gosh, I'm hungry already!

My husband, our five-year-old and I will (we just learned!) be moving into a beautiful house, finally back in New Orleans after four years as nomads. (YES I'M PLAYING THE KATRINA CARD.) Later in the month we plan on having a "Housechilling" party. Unlike my hippie mom who always entered a new home by shaking around some burning sage to get rid of evil spirits, we'll be inviting all the evil spirits (our friends in costume) in for punch and crudite! Come haunt us, sick things, and make our house both a home AND a crypt! We'll be filling the joint with sticky cobwebs and classic Biestle blowups. A spooookarific advent-style calendar would be the cherry on top!

Hubby's been laid off work, so it's going to be hard to get even more money (which was my plan) to decorate for Halloween. Our house is seriously lacking the scary look. I have 4 kids and Halloween is the most important night of the year!

I think I will do what I have done the past 2 years for Halloween. I decorate the outside front entrance and dress myself up as a scary monster, covering every part of me so the kiddies cant tell if I'm fake or real. Then I sit real still and listen to the comments they make while they are waiting for hubby to answer the door. Once they get their candy and turn around, I jump up and scream and they run off terrified. No I dont do it with little babies or toddlers..thats just too mean but I do however do so with older kids and teens. Last year though, it was so hot underneath the mask and custume that I must have dozed off at one point only to be awakened by 2 teenage boys who came back to scare me..which in fact they did..almost gave me a heart attack. LOL

Great giveaway. Please enter me. Thanks
