The 'Silent Night, Deadly Night' Box Set Is Coming!

Photobucket

Just got a press release e-mail from Lionsgate announcing the awesome news that the long awaited (at least by me) Silent Night, Deadly Night Box Set - containing SNDN 3, 4 & 5 - will hit the streets December 1st of this year, just in time for Christmas! These films have never before been released on DVD and though I haven't actually seen any of them yet, I love the first two Silent Night flicks (and for that matter all Christmas horror movies, no matter how bad they are) and have been dying to check these later sequels out for some time now. Here's the official press release!

Lionsgate brings three films from the Silent Night Deadly Night franchise - Silent Night Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out, Silent Night Deadly Night 4: Initiation and Silent Night Deadly Night 5: The Toymaker - to DVD for the first time ever. Featured in one amaray DVD case with O-card packaging, the Silent Night Deadly Night Box Set is the perfect holiday gift for any horror fan!

The films include:

'Silent Night Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out' Synopsis:

Ricky Caldwell, the notorious "Killer Santa Claus," awakens from a six year coma after being kept alive on life-support by a slightly crazed doctor experimenting with ESP and other special abilities. Ricky spies Laura, a young, clairvoyant blind woman who is traveling with her brother and his girlfriend to their grandmother's house for Christmas Eve. When Ricky decides to go after her, he leaves a trail of dead bodies in his wake.

'Silent Night Deadly Night 4: Initiation' Synopsis:

A female reporter is investigating the death of a woman who, on fire, leapt off of a building to her death. The investigation leads her to discover the existence of a strange cult. The cult, dedicated to the Egyptian god Isis, now wants her as their new queen.

'Silent Night Deadly Night 5: The Toymaker' Synopsis:

A young boy sees his father killed by a toy that was anonymously delivered to his house. After that, he is too traumatized to speak and his mother must deal with both him and the loss of her husband. Meanwhile, a toy maker named Joe Peto (Mickey Rooney) builds some suspicious-looking products while a mysterious man creeps around both the toy store and the boy's house...but who is responsible for the killer toys?

Pricing: DVD $19.98 (3-Disc Set)

I know what I'm getting myself for Xmas! My family used to rent a different installment every December 24th for the big day. I recall Part 5 being something special, but I realllllly wish they would put out 1 & 2 (or at least 2, since that contains the entire part 1 plus Garbage Day).

Emily, I was lucky enough to snatch up the 1 & 2 combo DVD before it became rare and valuable. The thing is going for almost $40 on Amazon!

In the spirit of Xmas, I won't track you down and pry them out of your mittened fingers. Instead, I'll just dramatically drop my chin in my cupped hands and release a sigh of rotting envy.

I have the part 1 and 2 disc and have parts 3-5 on VHS. I watch them every year. Part 3 is reeeeeaaaallly bad (even though it has Bill Moseley) but parts 4 and 5 are really good. Can't wait for the box set though.
