Vintage Halloween : Part 2!

Click here for Part 1 of Vintage Halloween!

You guys really seemed to like the first part, so I just headed up into the attic to do some more digging and i've found a few more vintage Halloween gems to share! The reason these pictures appear to have weird ghosty effects and cast reflections of something looming over them is because my scanner still doesn't work and so I was again forced to take pictures of the pictures. But they'll have to do. First up, we've got a couple more pictures of a young me all decked out for Halloween.

Here's my brother and I - he the Chinese dude and I the devil. No idea what year this is from but this is quite an old one. Check out those badass red shoes!!

The year was 1990 and I was already channeling my inner Sam by being a human pumpkin boy. As for what my brother was supposed to be, I couldn't say!

Again, not sure what year this is, but I decided to be a creepy hobo clown with a onesy. I still had this mask up until about a year ago, but I believe it was sold at a yard sale.

Next up we have a couple pieces of art that I did as a youngster. The first was made on October 26th, 1993, and I guess the school project was to draw a picture and write a little paragraph on what you planned on doing for Halloween....

Incase you can't read that, it says "This Halloween i'll dress up as a Dracula. I'll scare people. I'll have a cape and some blood. I wil go trick or treating."

Then we have a nice little graveyard scene, with the sun apparently out. I remember when I was younger I absolutely HAD to draw a sun into every picture I drew, no matter whether the drawing called for it be to night or day and even whether the scene took place outside or in. Don't know what that was all about.

And finally, two drawings that aren't exactly Halloween related per se, but I figured i'd toss them in here anyway. The first is I believe a drawing of the Elm St. 3D glasses that came with an old Freddy comic book I had (and still have) and the second is pretty self explanatory.

Trying to get Jen to track down some more old school Halloween photos of herself, so hopefully those will be unearthed shortly and we'll have a Part 3 on our hands! Bride of Vintage Halloween, perhaps?

Ohh man that is awesome.. I love the razor blade cloud / ghost next to the sun, but the one thing that got me cracking up was the generalization of the noun Dracula that I always use. "This Halloween I'll dress up as a Dracula." Best. Line. Ever. Saying "a Dracula" in place of "a vampire" never ceases to entertain me for some reason.

it's always fun to look at these old pics. That's what halloween is all about. Thanks for sharing. Believe it or not, I'm a worse artist now than you when you were a kid. lol

Your brother is, quite clearly, supposed to be a ninja.
