A Virtual Visit To Reggie's Ice Cream Shop!

One of the most chilling (pardon the pun) scenes in Phantasm is when Michael sees The Tall Man walk past Reggie and his ice cream shop, with the ominous Phantasm theme song playing over the proceedings. For me, it's one of the most memorable scenes in the entire movie and so today I thought we'd take a virtual tour to the location where that scene was shot, being that the ability to do so is literally right at our fingertips.

First, to refresh your memory, here is the location as it appears in the movie, as the fictional "Reggie's Ice Cream".



The shop is in actuality called the Julian Cafe & Bakery and it is located at 2112 Main Street in Julian, California. Here is a look at the bakery as it appears today, thanks to the incredible power of Google Maps.

Interesting to note, the interior of Reggie's Ice Cream shop, as seen in a deleted scene on the DVD, was filmed at an actual ice cream shop, Fosselman's Ice Cream on Main Street in Alhambra, California. Unfortunately Google's powers are only so strong, so you're gonna have to actually travel to Alhambra if you want to step inside and grab some ice cream!
