The Hudson Valley Horrors

Photobucket

So a couple weekends back Jen and I went upstate New York to visit her aunt and on Friday night, we ended up going to this really cool old school roller rink and slapping on the four wheels for the first time. While roller skating isn't necessarily the kinda thing I would think i'd be into, I gotta say, when a good song comes on the radio and you get into a groove, it's a hell of a lot of fun. But anyway, this rink is home to a roller derby team that goes by the name The Hudson Valley Horrors and I have to give them a shoutout on here not only for the awesome name and not only because they "think derby is the best thing next to B-horror movies", but also for the kickass shirt they came up with that I just had to buy for Jen as soon I laid eyes on it....

How cool is that? Anyone who puts a sexy version of the creepy Shining twins on their shirt, holding roller skates no less, gets my utmost support and respect and in fact, Jen and I are even considering heading back upstate to check out one of their games sometime. Truth be told, we probably would've never had any interest in doing such a thing if it weren't for this shirt and for their horror theme, which goes to show the power of marketing. It also goes to show that wherever there is anything even remotely horror related, I will be there.

So ya, that's really all I had to say. Never thought i'd have a favorite roller derby team!
