Eric Swartz is an incredibly talented artist I met on Facebook a few weeks back, who has a self described "twisted obsession for horror films". Residing in Hollywood, California and drawing huge inspiration from the art of Basil Gogos, Eric focuses his talents on portraits of popular figures from the world of horror cinema. Eric's illustration of Angela Bettis as May is the one that first turned me on to his work and i'm happy to say that a print of that illustration now hangs proudly on my wall. But we're not here to talk about May, we're here to talk about much more sinister and far less cute horror hackers - Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Leatherface. It is 8x10 prints of these three icons that Eric has generously donated for a giveaway this week and each of those prints will go to a different winner, ensuring that not one, not two, but three lucky readers come out of this one smelling like roses! Check out the three prints up for grabs below and then find out how you can put your name in the running!

All you've gotta do to enter is leave a comment below with your e-mail address and which of the above three horror villains is your favorite - it will be this choice that determines which print you will receive in the event that you win. Deadline for entries is one week from today, Monday the 23rd, so get your entries in by midnight on that date to qualify!
Good luck to all and a huge thank you to Eric Swartz for donating the goodies. Check out all of Eric's work at his website, The Art of Horror. Prints of all of his portraits are for sale so if you want anything, don't hesitate to contact him!

Leatherface is my personal favorite. My first horror movie in the 70's, in Texas, at a Drive-In was TCM and I have been a huge horror fan every since :)
Freddy would be my favourite. Bad puns, super natural powers, and the fact that they turned a fictional child molester/killer into a pop culture icon to the point where in 1988 they released a talking Freddy doll for kids is possibly the most awesome thing ever. Neither Jason or Leatherface could ever top that.
This is easy as cake: Jason. He rips Horshack's heart out. Even Mr. Kotter never had the balls to do that.
As much as I love Freddy, Leatherface terrifies me beyond belief and I adore him :) I remember have nightmares just about the cover art for the original VSH tape
Whoops!, Rhonnyreaper@yahoo.com
Oh, easy pick. Jason, of course.

No question!!! Jason, hands down......Freddy and Leatherface are both awesome but Jason just has that something special!!
Freddy is my favorite because of his brilliant twisted mind. He's a thinking killer which is far more scary to me than the lumbering brute types. Sure Jason & Leatherface are scary but I still can't watch any Nightmare on Elm St films without the lights on & always have to resort to passing out instead of sleeping. lol
Freddy Krueger!!! After the first time I saw Nightmare on Elm Street I walked downstairs shaking. My Dad was heading out to the gun range.
I went with him.

Leatherface is the best. Yes both Jason and Freddy are movie icons, but you know what. Leatherface got a freaking Chainsaw. Can't beat that.

Asking me to choose between the 3 is like asking me to pick between Snickers, Reeses, or Dots. I love all 3 and on any given day I'd pick a different one. In this case, however, I'm gonna go with Jason based on the strength of that painting. The other two are killer (no pun intended), but the Voorhees one is just amazing. The blue tints gives it a great mood, looking very much like movie lighting, and that eye is perfect. So I wanna throw my name in the hat for the Jason print.
As far as which villain I like best, I like Freddy Krueger the best. He's got personality. However I think I like the Jason print best. It's got the clear deformity of his head, the battle tested hockey mask. And there's a malevolent glare in his eye.
The Freddy one looks kind of sad. Like maybe some teenager managed to wake herself up just before he got the kill in.
The leatherface one seems incomplete without his chainsaw.
Still they're all very nice work and would look great up on a wall.

Jason, Jason, Jason!
That painting is awesome. Thanks for the contest!
it's gotta be the king, Jason.

iZombie
I'm gonna have to go with Team Freddy. He was my first scare at a young impressionable age.
creepy.1013@gmail.com
Old School Micheal Myers is my favorite villains (yeah I gotta be different) but true to my Horror passion. heh
I will go with Jason, I like his stylized look in that art-work, *shivers

Jason. Only one that can pop a dudes eyes out with his bare hands.
Jason!! Cause wherever teenagers are partying, getting wasted, and having pre-marridle sex, he's always there...just like me :) haha
He's a total badd ass too. And he's kindaaaaa of adorable, in a sick, deformed, serial killer kind of way...haha

I have loved Mr. Voorhees since I found a copy of one of the movies on VHS when I was little. Something about the strange mask wearing, machete wielding psycho that never says a word stayed with me. He has always intrigued me and creeped me out beyond belief. While Freddy is a close second with his puns and and freaky looking burns, I will always love Jason.
For me, it's most definitely Jason. I love both the other baddies equally, but it was Jason jumping out of the water that sparked my lifelong interest in the genre.

Freddy has been my favorite for the longest time. I like a killer with a personality. It's hard to top his wicked sense of humor.
deadnations@gmail.com
A burned up kiddie fiddler who only gets to you thru your dreams, a wimp who hides behind a hockey mask who's mommy had to kill for him, or a crazed son of a bitch who cuts your face off and wears it while chasing bitches thru the dead of nite in texas with a bloody chainsaw?
LEATHERFACE!!!
stonerphonic@hotmail.com
All of these are incredible..but I must say Jason is my fave..Thanks for the grabs and to Eric Swartz for the opp!
autumstoll@yahoo.com
I LOVE all 3 characters and they all look great, but my absolute favorite is Freddy Krueger!
Leatherface is my favorite. It's scarier than a clown painting by John Wayne Gacy.
I love both Freddy and Jason. But I think Jason is alittle better by comparison. I love how in each movie Jason's appearance changes to show the revages of time and battle on his body. I espically like him in the last few movies. How rotted and angry he is. Jason is definitly someone I would not want to come face to face with.

I'd have to say my favorite is Jason. I actually wrote a blog entry explaining why here.
toddguerra@gmail.com
They are all scary as hell, but I have to say Leatherface keeps me up all night! Great contest!
Sid72529@sbcglobal.net
I'll take Freddy every time. Jason & Leatherface are just masked, mindless goons being lead by the nose by a family member(Jason with his Norman Bates-ish mother deal,Leatherface always being led by one or more of his inbred relatives),whereas Freddy is a vicious wise-ass killer of his own volition with no such immediate family connections. Also, people always remember more of Freddy's kills than Jason's or Leatherface's because Freddy always showed imagination with kills(e.g,turning a girl into a cockroach then squashing her in a roach motel),where as Jason & Leatherface primarily used their respective weapons of choice, the machete or the chainsaw. In short,I prefer quality over quantity when it comes to kills with these slashers, and that's why Freddy sits alone on the throne as King of All Slashers.

My favorite would be Leatherface of course! tWarner419@aol.com
Freddy!! Nightmare was the first horror movie (that came out after 1950) that my parents let me watch! It's always had a special place in my heart.

oops,should've left e-mail,bagman689@comcast.net
Freddy! I still remember as a child sneaking a peek around the corner as my parents would watch the latest Freddy movie and then having nightmares later that night.
april.sexton@windstream.net
leatherface definitly, he's soo scary!
cbauman1982@yahoo.com
Jason!! He terrified me as a kid and that print is just awesome!
beemanmil@live.com
My favorite is Jason Voorhees. He never had some weird obsession with dream stalking, or putting people into prize-winning chilis. He just liked killing people creatively.
UncoveredFilms@Gmail.com
Although they all look amazing, I'd take the Jason print.
halloweenoverkill@gmail.com
I like jason the best. Leathface is a psychotic with retard strength. Freddie is an undead psychotic that kills you in your sleep. But only jason is an undead psychotic with retard strength that will kill you in a sleeping bag.
Joe_Vigilante1@yahoo.com
Hard choice! I've got a weak spot for Freddy, and TCM is easily my favorite slasher movie, but Jason has such a simple, uncomplicated brutality...plus, the Jason print is by far the best of these three, so that's my vote!
erinwiegand@gmail.com
LEATHERFACE!
Gingerbyrd@Gmail.com
I'm sorry, I thought my email would be automatically included! My favorite villain is Freddy Krueger and my email is: aheath333@gmail.com
Freddy, though Leatherface is pretty awesome.
JASON hands down!! He's the coolest!
hch91@hotmail.com
Wow, that's a tough choice, but I think I'd have to go with Freddy Krueger. That's just such an iconic pose with his his glove 'razors' all over the place. Good stuff.
rightguard at gmail dot com
Freddy Kruger! Come on, the man was in a Dokken video!
thekidinthehall0@live.com
Freddy is totes the best.
cobb.rr@gmail.com
Freddy from "A Nightmare on Elm St.". I grew up with the movies.I remember at a very young age sneaking into theaters and seeing the latest Elm St. movie. The movies were so imaginative and Freddy was such a cool villian. I couldn't help but like him.
Freddy has got to be the best! He's supernatural, has a cooler weapon than Leatherface and Jason, and actually talks!
horror-freak@myspace.com
Freddy, of course! I was terrified of him when I was younger, then turned around and became so into the movies!!
hellomcfly85@cox.net
Freddy is my favorite Villain but I have to say that Jason painting is FANTASTIC!! LOVE IT!!
Jason, by far!
spencer_barrett15@eku.edu
I will always be a Freddy fan. They're all great but Freddy has held my heart from a young age. I'm even planning on getting a Freddy tattoo one of these days. You know, when I have money. One Day. :)
kristi AT thedorsons DOT com
As amazing as both the Jason print and Leatherface print look, my favorite will always be Freddy. What can I say? He's got a hell of a personality! ;)
hwhiteshark@aol.com
I would have to say Leatherface. Out of all of these characters he is the one that could exist and in some cases has. He can not be reasoned with, can't be bribed...yet he is a child. A mind of a infant and the rage of a lunatic! A deadly combination. I love Leatherface.
pabragg1@yahoo.com
Jason is my favorite killer of those shown, and the detail on that print is fantastic!
alex@horror-101.com
Freddy is the winner, hands down; best ever.
misterejuju@yahoo.com
Jason because i feel sorry for him! He is just a pathetic creature behind his mask.
