Throughout most of February, artist Scott Campbell is/has been running an exhibit through Gallery 1988 of over 200 pieces from his "Great Showdowns" series, a line of watercolor paintings he did depicting some of the great battles of screen history (Scut Farkus vs Ralphie, Clarence vs Drexl, Clark W. Griswold vs giant balls of Christmas lights ... you get the idea). In a world where intricate and highly detailed art pieces get the most attention, Campbell shows that sometimes beauty lies in the simplicity of it all. Here are his simple and to the point depictions of some of the best showdowns in the history of horror cinema!
You can check out the rest of Campbell's "Great Showdowns" over at Gallery 1988, where you will also find details about the live gallery of these pieces, which will be running in California through February 26th.
