In an attempt to get crazy ass speed happy drivers to slow down, Mayor Bloomberg has installed new LED warning signs at crosswalks that he hopes will give speeders a reality check and, essentially, scare them into slowing down. When a driver is approaching one of the signs at a speed that a radar determines is too fast, the normal crosswalk figure will change into the image of a skeleton and the sign will read "SLOW DOWN". I shit you not. Check out the new sign below.
I question whether or not this will work/whether or not most drivers will even pick up on the fact that the figure is depicting a skeleton, but it's pretty badass nonetheless!
