So the prequel to Carpenter's The Thing hits theaters this Friday and in anticipation of the release, movie shirt company Last Exit To Nowhere has generously donated one of their Thing inspired shirts for a little giveaway here on Freddy In Space. Last Exit To Nowhere specializes in highly clever movie t-shirts which often feature the names and logos of fictional locations/companies seen in movies, such as Camp Crystal Lake and KAB Radio (from The Fog). In other words, their shirts are for diehard film fans, the ones who want to wear clever winks and nods to their favorite films rather than the typical tacky poster art or simple film logo most movie shirts boast.

Up for grabs is one of their Outpost #31 shirts, a reference to the research facility Kurt Russell and company encounter the titular creature in. You want it? Here's all you gotta do.
Drop me a comment below with your e-mail address and the size shirt you want in the event that you win (either S, M, L, XL or XXL). If you want to include whether or not you're looking forward to the prequel feel free, but it's not required.
Giveaway is open to everyone and will run through the weekend. Good luck and be sure to head over to Last Exit To Nowhere for more kickass movie shirts. Seriously. Go.

bloodthevirus[at]gmail[dot]com and id like a xxl! also as for the prequel i think its more of a remake of the original Thing from another world as Carpenters version seemed more like a sequel than a remake to me.... let me explain :-) in the original the thing from another world they unearth the ship and the creature and melt the creature from the ice and set him loose right? in carpenters version they find that the ship has already been un earthed (also showing clips from the original movie of the crew of that camp unearthing the ship. secondly they come across the ice.... in the original they thawed him out... in carpeners version the creature is already thawed.... also with the fact that the creature was burned up in order to destroy it at the end of the thing from another world in turn burning the majority of the camp down.... they have the half burned up camp in carpenters version and also the burned remains of said creature..... as for the new film i think they are wrongfully advertising it as a prequel when it is in fact a remake of the thing from another world.... they are touching on everything done in the thing from another world from the unearthing of the ship and the creature.... yes im excited to see this remake to The Thing from Another World! i hope they do it justice lmmfao

Lg please!
This movie looks to be bad-ass. The original is still a fav!
highlycaffeinatedproductions[at]gmail[dot]com and L.
I like how you refer to it, as a pre-make. I'm pretty sure it is a remake, but they've dressed it up as a prequel. Guess we'll find out if it ends with them chasing a dog in a helicopter...
Last Exit shirts are the bomb!

Definitely looking forward to checking it out on Friday! The trailer looks pretty good.

I expect the same thing I expect from all prequels. A few plot points which don't quite line up. A few sub plots included to try and appeal to a wider audience and possibly spin off into a game. An explanation of things which doesn't quite make sense and was better left unsaid. A re-re-re-re-re-re release of the original movie. A few good moments. A few moments which are essentially recreations of moments from the earlier film. All and all it'll be a mixed bad and with the right mindset it's worth a watch.
I'm hoping to see it this weekend.Even if it sucks horror/sci-fi movies are scarce this Halloween season.Sure I'll enjoy it anyway.I'll need a XL if I win.

xl please. I'm looking forward to it, but I am reserving my judgement until I see it. How can you have a Thing movie without Kurt Russell?

I can't wait for the prequel coming out this weekened!!
I would like the XXL if I win. Thanks!
my email is jezikah@gmail.com and I'd take a M if I win. I am (cautiously) looking forward to the remake/prequel/whatever. I've heard sort of good things so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I've soo been meaning to grab some shirts from them but them shipping prices are steep. And I'm definitely looking forward to the prequel and I'm glad it's been getting good reviews so far cause I was definitely a naysayer early on. I'm actually going to see it back to back with the '82 version as it's playing a midnight show by me, both on the big screen!!

I'm very much looking forward to this one. I'll have to stay in suspense for an extra week, though, as I'm volunteering at Rock and Shock this weekend (first time volunteering at a con; VERY excited).

Not sure if this hits theaters in sweden, carpenters version is still one of my all time favourite movies so I will check this one out.

Cool looking shirt! And I would LOVE to be able to win it! Like others, I have mixed feelings about the upcoming film. I'm sure that it will be good in its own right and have its moments. But I am weary of ALL the remakes, re-imagines, re-envisions and in some cases, even prequels and sequels. But I will check it out, like many other genre fans.

Huge fan of Carpenter's Thing, not so sure about the prequel.
The teaser and clips all disappointed me, still I'm lookin' forward to it, hoping that it's at least decent.

2X please if I win. mrdurden21athotmaildotcom I've gone back and forth about the prequel. At first I was completely opposed to it, then I started to swing back the other way. Now that I've seen the trailer I think the CGI looks crappy as usual but the movie itself looks pretty good. I'll probably end up seeing it.

Tbh, I am looking forward to the prequel, but I'm going to try and watch it in isolation from the John carpenter classic, I think it might be an awesome film in it's own right, but not in comparison to the Kurt Russell film. Although it'll probably be better than the Howard Hawks/Christian Nyby b-movie shocker!

I have the original version of the shirt, I loved the original film too, all those grisly animatronics, I wonder wether the CGI will be as effective...

I'm glad the makers of it had so much reverence for the original film to the point where the analyzed the first base the Thing attacked like a crime scene but I'm not happy that they went with all the CGI.

Unnecessary prequels & sequels are against the law! - or they would be if I was in charge.

Hello, I'd love a size 'S' please!(assuming they are regular fit)
Thanks for this opportunity! Awesome competition and even awesomer shirt!
P.S not to sure about the prequel. The cast of Mary elizabeth Winestead and Joel Edgerton, will probably ensure that i go and see it though. The only problem is that the original is so fantastic that I think this prequal is fighting a losing battle before it has even started!
