Remember that big Behind The Mask news I alluded to yesterday, when I posted that badass new theatrical poster from Justin Osbourn (looming over us up above)? As some of you figured out, the big announcement is indeed that Behind The Mask will soon be returning to theaters, with that piece of throwback art serving as the official poster for the re-release. Coolest of all, whether or not it plays at a theater near you is entirely in your hands, as director Scott Glosserman is taking part in a new 'Theatrical On Demand' platform called Gathr, a groundbreaking new way for us fans to get the movies we want to see on the big screen into theaters near us.

I now turn the floor over to Scott, who will provide all the details!!

I was so bummed out about our theatrical run, 6 years ago, because I knew there were people who wanted to see the movie, but it wasn't playing anywhere near them.

For B4TM I created a distribution mechanism that changes all that. I call it TOD — Theatrical On Demand. The company is called Gathr, and we launched it at 11:30 pst, this morning.

What Gathr will allow you to do is to 'pull' a movie to a local theatre near you ... but, only if we can get enough people to commit to going in time, by pre-authorizing their credit cards for a ticket.

If not enough people commit, no harm no foul, the screening doesn't happen and no one gets charged. This model, if it works, will give movies like B4TM a chance to be seen in theatres.

So, I'm asking all of you to spearhead our efforts to Gathr a screening of BEHIND THE MASK at a theatre near you, starting right now.

If people come out to celebrate the 6th year anniversary of the movie, not only will we show the industry that there is tremendous support for a sequel, but we'll also prove that there's a new, viable way for filmmakers to get their movies seen.

The details:

Starting today you can request a screening to bring BEHIND THE MASK to a theatre near you, for one night only, on WEDNESDAY EVENING, APRIL 11th.

For the equipped theatres, the screening will be followed by a live panel discussion of the movie and a Q&A with myself and cast members, that will be Skyped in.

So, we'll be able to take your questions from as far as Augusta, Maine to Anchorage, Alaska.

Once you've queued up a screening, you'll be able to share the link to the event with Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, you name it.

This all kicks off today.

We have no idea how it's going to go down, but you all are the first to know about it and you're going to be the first to try it.

So, thank you. Truly.

And good luck to us all!

Sincerely,

Scott Glosserman
