Support Dream Warrior Ken Sagoes This Weekend In The LA Marathon!

Photobucket

Way back in the summer of 2009, I made a little discussion post wherein I asked you guys what horror movie victim you'd bring back from the dead, if you were granted such an epic wish. My answer, which still to this day hasn't changed, was Nightmare On Elm Street 3 & 4's Roland Kincaid, the uber badass dream warrior portrayed by Ken Sagoes. You simply haven't experienced pure bliss until you've heard him call Freddy a "burnt faced pussy", a line which never ceases to bring a smile to my face and a warmth to my heart.

So what's Sagoes up to these days, after losing in his valiant two part battle with the burnt faced one? In addition to writing books, Sagoes runs a non-profit organization called the Giving Back Corporation, which works to better the lives of inner city youth by promoting educational goals. In a bid to raise money for the organization, Sagoes is this Sunday taking part in the Los Angeles Marathon, where he will be walking the full 26 miles of the journey. Sagoes is naming each mile after a horror movie villain, with the final one being named after his arch nemesis Freddy, and his goal is to raise $30,000 for GBC's Books and Supplies Scholarships. In order to reach that goal, Sagoes is reaching out to us, the fans.

You can pledge your support for Sagoes and his cause in a couple different ways, with different donations scoring you different goodies, including 8x10's which he will personalize for you. In addition, the names of all who pledge their support will be entered into a random drawing, with 26 being chosen to receive personal phone calls from Sagoes, one for each mile of his journey. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? If you're thinking that you're gonna ask Ken to call you a burnt faced pussy over the phone should you receive a call from him then ya, you're totally thinking what I'm thinking.

If that wasn't cool enough, Sagoes' fellow Elm Street alumni Jennifer Rubin and Ira Heiden recently vowed their support for the walk, saying they will also give autographs to those who donate. Check out the video below, where they explain more!

We all stood behind Ken when he battled Freddy not once, but twice, and I ask that you consider doing so one more time for this great cause. You can do so over at the Giving Back Corporation. Learn more about the walk and Ken's latest creative ventures at The Sagoes Company, his official website.

Oh and after you've made your pledge of support, head over to the LA Marathon website, where you can track Sagoes this Sunday during his trek to reach Freddy!

Love ya, Ken!!
