The Freddy In Space Post Office Box Is Now Open!!

 I've been toying with the idea of opening up a PO Box for the blog for a while now, but never really had the money sitting around to do it.  Now that I just got my tax returns a few weeks ago, I'm happy to report that I've plopped down the 80 bucks for a six month box at my local post office!

 

You'd think it'd be easy to get yourself a PO Box, but nothing seems to be easy anymore in this world.  I pre-paid for the box online a good month ago and when I went to pick it up and get my key, I realized that I didn't have the proper identification in order to do so.  Even with my state driver's license, I was not able to pick up the box that I had already paid for.  It seems I just wasn't a complete enough human being to receive mail, again even though I was paying to receive it.  So I had to sign up for a voter registration card, which was another one of the acceptable forms of ID.  After three weeks of waiting for that to come in the mail, I finally got that just a couple days ago.  That wasn't the end of the dilemma, as there was some kind of system issue that resulted in me waiting another couple days to get the box, but nevertheless the bottom line is that the Freddy In Space PO Box is now FINALLY open for business!  And I can vote.

Now the main reason behind doing this is because I get e-mails and messages all the time from people wanting to send me stuff, be it movies they've made or anything else they want me to check out, and I'm honestly not all that comfortable with giving my address out to people that I don't at least on some level know.  It's not that I don't trust any of you folks, but ya know, it's just safer to have a PO Box.  That said, I think this could also be a lot of fun, as I plan on doing little PO Box opening posts every couple weeks or every month or so, depending on whether or not I even find anything in there.  That will also determine whether or not I keep this going after the six months are up.
