As I've been teasing for the last couple weeks over on the Facebook page, Warner Bros. recently sent me their Gremlins & Gremlins 2 Blu-ray releases, which are available tomorrow, May 8th. Whether I chose to keep/review them or give them away was up to me, and being the incredibly generous man I am, I decided that I'd rather give them away to you folks. You should be quite appreciative of this decision, especially being that I'm a pretty big time Gremlins fan, so feel free to thank me and kiss my hairy hobbit feet.
Before we get to the giveaway details, let's take a closer look at these releases!
- Over 10 minutes of additional scenes
- Making-of Featurette
- 2 commentaries;
1) Director Joe Dante, Phoebe Cates, Zach Galligan, Dick Miller & Howie Mandel

I think it's pretty safe to say that these releases are absolute must haves in the collection of any and all Gremlins lovers. So if you fit that bill, here's all you've gotta do in order to throw your name in the running. Oh and yes, both will be going to the same winner, because you kinda can't have one in your collection without the other!
Leave me a comment below with your e-mail address and a brief description of your favorite scene, either from Gremlins or Gremlins 2.
That'll be all.
Deadline for entries is next Monday, May 14th, at midnight. Good luck to all and remember; don't feed these into your Blu-ray player after midnight! Errr, well, at least don't get them wet. Cause they totally won't play if you do.
If you're not the gambling type, you can go ahead and buy the Gremlins and/or Gremlins 2 Blu-ray(s) over on Amazon!

When I was younger, I always loved the girl gremlin in Gremlins 2. I thought she was awesome cuz.. well she was a girl.
Now the whole cut tape part was kind of amusing. Did they change that for the dvd or did they keep it as if it were a vhs? I know they had it different for broadcast tv.
Any scene with "The Brain"!
Any scene with "The Brain"....excuse me but may I have a word with you?

My favorite scene had to have been the Gremlins taking over the local bar that Kate worked at and causing complete havoc.
i love both films equally but i have to say my favorite scene is with grampa fred saying this line "They put me on at 3am. People who are awake at 3am aren't afraid of the Wolfman. The only thing that frightens those people is sobering up and going to work. " even as a kid that cracked me up and the whole "up all night"-esque horror movie marathon thing was a great nod to us fans i loved it my email is as follows

Very nice, thats awfully generous of you to do so. Id love to enter and my email is kluv422@gmail.com
My favorite scene in the first one isnt necessarily a scene, as i just find the radio clips with Rockin Ricky absolutely histarical
As for the new batch id have to say i have a number of favorite scenes, but if i had to distinguish one i guess i really love the gremlin with the dental drill "Is it safe" lol. Thanks for the chance and even offering them, keep up the good work on the wonderful site!

Gonna go with Gremlins 2 for a favorite scene.
When Kate (Phoebe Cates) tales her "Lincoln's bithday" story. Love how it's a play on her "Why I hate Christmas" speech from the first film, and it's freakin hilarious that Billy (Galligan) cuts her short in this one.
I basically love all the plays that Gremlins 2 has on the first one. The time zone joke, the yogurt stand, the flasher Gremlin. Shit is genius.
As ridiculous as it is, my favorite scene is in part two when the bat gremlin flies through the wall and leaves a hole shaped like Batman's insignia. Gklingele@yahoo.com
I loved BOTH of these movies growing up. For the first Gremlins, my favorite scene is the one where Gizmo first gets wet and "reproduces." The first time I watched it, I had no idea what the movie was really about, and that scene just blew my mind.
And for the second movie, it was Kate in the elevator being attacked by the gremlins.

Omg I love Gremlins so much and I dont even have them on dvd yet xD
So this was my first ever horror movie, I watched it when I was like six. It got me into the genre I guess and my favourite scene has to be the "microwave scene" from the first, and if you really are a Gremlins lover like you claim, I trust you know exactly what Im talking about. :) Gave me nightmares for weeks, and I refused to use the microwave for a good month after.
When Mrs Deagle said " I hate Christmas carolers" walked outside and it was a group of Gremlins singing.
Meganbarber88@yahoo.com
aholtzapfel@yahoo.com. The vday scene is where all the Gremlins are at the movie theater in the first movie.
My favorite scene is definitely the mass Gremlin fry at the end of part 2! What a spectacularly crafty way to bring their demise!
reverend138@gmail.com
tstrong299@gmail.com - I think one of my favorite scenes has to be the dentist scene in the 2nd flick, or maybe the Microwave scene from the first.
Love both movies. My favorite is of course the first one. I love the part where the mom fights the Gremlins in the kitchen. Fighting, stabbing and killing one in the juicer!!! Love it.

When I was little I always loved Gizmo going Rambo in Gremlins 2 with his homemade bow and arrow. But as I got older the scene that I love and always makes me laugh is Kate telling the story of why she hates Christmas in the first film. Maybe I'm sick for laughing at that but they way she tells it is great. The details really sell the story. The best part is that they only find him because she start a fire. "That's when I noticed the smell..." And that's why I'll never try to come down the chimney dressed like Santa for my daughter.

My favorite scene is Billy trying to hide Gizmo in his desk at work in Gremlins 2.

I love the tranny gremlin in part 2. I always wanted her to be in moreof it tho

One of my favorite scenes in the two movies is in The New Batch when Clamp gets attacked in the office as he enters and he ends up shoving the gremlin into the paper shredder screaming "LET GO OF MY TIE!" as he gets dragged down towards the machines blades while green blood and fleshy bits fly!
Just one fave scene? Hmmm... well guess I will go with the part where Hulkamania almost runs wild on the Gremlins in the projector booth during Gremlins 2!
andrew.moncrieff@virgin.net
So many great moments in these movies, but I'm going to have to go with the scene where Lynn Peltzer first encounters the Gremlins in the first movie.
It goes from super-creepy with the ironic Christmas vibe ("Do you see what I see?"), to disgusting and right into surprising ass-kicking. This was before Ripley or Sarah Connor had really shown their chops as badasses, it must've been surprising for audiences in 84, in a film FULL of suprises, to see Mama Peltzer become an absolute badass and off three of the little blighters within moments of first encounter.
Oh, and the blender was my favourite method of dispatch in this scene!
oh mannn.. I love em both! Sooo imma hafta put my fav scenes from both.
Gremlins 1- Duh. When spike executes a perfect freedom cannonball into the pool to multiply. haha
Gremlins 2- When Gizmo turns out the Rambo persona on spidygremster (as Hulk would call it) :)

Gremlins - I always loved the bar scene when the gremlins are totally thrashing the place. Either the gangster gremlin or the beer tap chugging gremlin. (although i never owned a pair, i kinda liked the leg warmer, jazzersize gremlin too)
Gremlins 2- The electric gremlin by far!
"I wanna be a part of it, New York New York."

As great as both movies are, there is always one small throw away scene ive always loved. Towards the end of part one, Billy's father is seen at the gas station again after he gives the attendant the smokeless ashtray. All you see is the guy absoutely hacking his brains out completely submerged in smoke. Its just another small glimpse into how bad of an inventor he really was, but had a heart of gold.
btw, I just recently discovered this site and LOVE IT!!! I spent a few hours going backwards just to read and see everything! I think I have seen you at a few monstermania cons too!
Bob
Gremlins 1 and 2 are two awesome movies!
The Scene where Gizmo is singing is pretty cute, but I love the kitchen scene the most, where Mom takes care of all the Gremlins using all the weird appliances her Husband has invented :)

Favorite scene, eh? For me, it will always have to be the theater full of Gremlins with their popcorn bucket and candy box headgear singing along with the Seven Dwarves. Truly iconic and funny as hell.
Love the scene from the Gremlins 1 where they are all singing in the theater. In the second movie I love where Kate starts talking about the horrible events on all the holidays, poking fun at the Christmas tragedy line that happen in the first movie.
Jay Taylor jdtaylor1976@charter.net
In the first movie is was the Gremlins singing in the theater. In the second movie it was the scene were Kate was poking fun at here the Christmas Tragedy from the first film by stating all the bad things that happen to her on other holidays

Whenever I think of Gremlins my mind goes to the scene of Gizmo doing Rambo in Gremlins 2. Growing up as a huge Rambo fan that scene epitomizes the series to me and how great it is.

Great giveaway! My favorite scene from part 1 was the gremlin in the blender and microwave scene!
Thanks!

For me it has to be in the 2nd film when they are all melting together, just a site to behold. But the first one has that Christmas theme I love so much and goes so well with the first film.

My all time favorite Gremlins scene has to be the moment where Billy's mom is making her way to the kitchen and turns away from the door, then you see this wicked little shadow in the doorway coupled with that creepy, almost 'meow' sound followed by the dinging chimes.

My all time favorite scene is the caroling gremlins.
My favorite scene is when the Gremlins get their Drink On at Dorry's Tavern!

Any scene where Gizmo plays the Hero! I love Gizmo so much. He's the best! Very fave scene is when he's driving the remote controlled car around the store. Didn't we all wish we could do that!?

Favorite scene: (gremlins #1) i know this is a very odd scene to like, I don't know why I like it but it's the scene where Billy and Gizmo are lying in bed and watching "Invasion of the body snatchers" I like the idea of a classic in a classic.
gotta be the motorized chair shooting through the upstairs window while occupied

Love both of these films (my very first horror movie series)!
My favorite scene would definitely be that small bit in Gremlins 2 where Billy is trying to warn this group about the gremlins and they all start making fun of the rules right before a Gremlin bursts out and attacks. I always thought that scene was hilarious.
The bar scene in the first one was great but for some reason when Stripe says"Gizmo ca-ca" has always stuck in my head.
edvaln@aol.com
vinnieromano1118@live.com
Gremlins favorite scene....when Stripe jumps into the pool and we know more are coming.
Gremlins 2 favorite scene is when Gizmo first sees Mohawk coming out of the garbage, and the music hits...and Gizmo has the look of "oh no, not again!"
Although I think the original is superior to the sequel, I've always loved the scene from Gremlins 2 in which the film appears to break and the gremlins have control of the theater. I've never seen the movie on the big screen, unfortunately, but as a child the breaking of the fourth wall always blew me away. It's even cooler that they have 2 different versions - the theatrical one with Hulk Hogan and the home video one with John Wayne.
alexjdivincenzo@gmail.com
The best scene is from the first one where the Gremlin in thrown in the microwave and explodes!!!

When Phoebe Cates comes out of the pool without a.....oh wrong movie!? Any scene with Dick Miller muttering about the Gremlins!

The scene where Gizmo went Rambo on dat ass. It's still funny now but was even funnier back then since Rambo was so big at the time.
MY FAVORITE SCENE FROM THE 1980S' FILM "THE GREMLINS" WAS WHEN THE CHRISTMAS CAROLERS GREMLINS THREW "MRS.DEEGLE" OUT THE WINDOW OF HER OWN HOUSE FROM THE ELECTRIC STAIR LIFT, THAT WAS FUNNY, AND HER CHARACTER DESERVED IT TOO!!! MEAN OLD LADY!!! AND THE SHERIFF AND DEPUTY GOES "THERE GOES MRS. DEEGLE"!!! JUST CLASSIC WRITING MATERIAL FROM THE WRITER-"CHRIS COLUMBUS" , AND MY OTHER FAVORITE
SCENE FROM 1990S'FILM "GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH" WAS THE WHEN THE "FLASHER GREMLIN" FLASHED PHEEBE CATES AGAIN!! JUST LIKE LIKE IN THE ORIGINAL "IN THE BAR SCENE" THEY JUST HAD TO PUT THAT SCENE BACK IN THERE!!!!JUST CLASSIC MATERIAL!!!! THESE ARE MY 2 FAVORITE SCENES FROM BOTH FILMS "GREMLINS" AND "GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH" JUST SOME GOOFY, FUNNY SCENES!!!AND AS THEY SAID IN THE FILM IN GREMLINS 2- THAT'S ALL FOLKS!!

The scene with Mrs. Deagle and her malfunctioning chair lift on the stairs! That part has always made me crack up. The caroling Gremlins right before that happens is classic too. The best! ;D

^I think that alone should let me win, haha.
I love Gremlins, I try to watch it every Christmas Eve. There are so many scenes that I absolutely love in this movie, but my favorite, without a doubt is the bar scene. This is where all of the gremlins have gathered at Dory's Tavern for some drinks, cigarettes, and to cause mayhem. I've watched this movie over and over again as a child, teenager, and adult, and this scene STILL makes me laugh hysterically. The special fx are so well done that I actually believe everything is happening. I was extremely upset when I turned 21 and my first bar experience was nothing like this, I'm still waiting for the day to be in a bar full of Gremlins (Monster Mania being the closest chance for me). The breakdancing gremlin gets me every time. Gremlins is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time, definitely my favorite CHRISTMAS movie ever! Deagle...DEAGLE,DEAGLE,DEA-GLE!!!
Oh yes, and here is the tattoo of Stripe on my arm.

My favorite scene is from the first movie.. the music on the phone always creeped me out, and then she walks into the kitchen to fight them off. This scene frightened me to death as a kid and it still is creepy to this day! I love how she kills each one too.

I have so many favorite parts from both these films but I love the part where Stripe jumps into the pool in part 1. When I was little and I first saw that , I knew the shit just hit the fan!!
Come on, this should be obvious, right? It's the scene in Gremlins 2 where Hulk Hogan appears in the movie theater and threatens to let Hulkamania run wild all over the gremlins!

I'm a huge Gremlins fan. I have been since I was a kid. Favorite seen from Gremlins is Stripe in the electronics store. Favorite from Gremlins 2 is a tie between Bat Gremlin turning into a gargoyle and Spider Gremlin.
