Cool Shit : 90's Vending Machine Stickers!

Stumbled upon something pretty cool in my lunch break travels around the web today, which I had never seen before.  I somehow found my way over to the blog for a t-shirt site called Headstone City, where a few years ago a post was made about some pretty awesome horror movie themed prism stickers, which were apparently available in vending machines back in the early 90's.  Put some coins in, get back a sticker that's wedged between two sheets of thin cardboard.  That sort of deal.

Now what's really awesome about these is that they appear to be unofficially licensed, because the movies featured on them come from a multitude of different studios.  In addition, many of the films given the sticker treatment are fairly obscure, the kinds of movies you wouldn't expect to be given such honors.

Check out some of the coolest ones, which again come courtesy of Headstone City, the proprietor of which appears to be the only man on the planet who still has any of these in his possession.  In fact, he seems to be the only guy on the net who even knows of their existence.

Here's a link about them in the Non-Sport Update Card Talk Forum. The only one I have is Fly II.

I remember these from when I was a kid. I don't recall exactly where the vending machine was where I got them, but I think it was at my local mall. I definitely had a Jason Lives prism sticker, which might be floating around a junk draw somewhere. And for some reason I remember having The Supernaturals too. I think it might have just been the Confederate skull from the VHS cover, but I distinctly remember it. Thanks for sharing this blast from the past.

Wow, the only stickers I got from vending machines were backstreet boys ones. I used to get stickers every time I went to kmart. Wow, bsb and Kmart. I know we've gotta be talking about the 90s.
