Awesome Art : Book Accurate Police Sketches Of Literary Horror Icons

One of my new favorite sites is the Tumblr blog The Composites, the brain child of Brian Joseph Davis, a writer/artist who came up with the brilliant idea to use law enforcement composite sketch software to bring to the world the most accurate physical depictions of literary characters ever seen.  Based on detailed descriptions of characters from the books they appear in, taken directly from the text of those books, Davis brings to life those characters in more accurate ways than the film adaptations of those written works ever have.

Since the site was started just a few months back, there are only a couple pages of sketches available for viewing, and only a very small handful that pertain to the world of horror.  But being that there are a few on there that are fit to be posted here on Freddy In Space, I wanted to spread the word about this awesome project.

So here are Davis' police sketches of a few literary horror icons, all of whom have been committed to celluloid, but have never quite looked exactly as they were originally written to look ... UNTIL NOW!

NORMAN BATES, PSYCHO

Photobucket
COUNT DRACULA, BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA

Photobucket
ANNIE WILKES, MISERY

Photobucket
RANDALL FLAGG, THE STAND

If you've got a character in mind that you'd like to see given the police sketch treatment, Davis is accepting requests.  So head over to his blog to see more and let him know who you want to see!

So then.  What characters from the world of written horrors would you like to see book accurate depictions of?  Leave a comment and let me know!!

Randall flag was described as being dark. Dark complected. Stephen King said in an interview in an early fangoria magazine, if they make The Stand into a movie he would like to see Richard Pryor play Randall Flag...Sorry, just think the Randall Flagg sketch is way off.
