For my birthday at the end of June, my good friend Tom Bryce, who writes the blog Shit Movie Fest, had an artist friend of his, by the name of Christine Larsen, commission a one of a kind art piece inspired by a movie he knows I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with; 1995's Ice Cream Man. You know, the movie I talk about on here way too much. And In fact will be talking about again real soon. Because I've got something quite special planned. But I digress.
I just realized that I never actually posted the picture of the awesome art piece here on the blog, so I'm here to belatedly do that tonight. Check it out!!
From what Tom told me, Christine's inspiration was to envision the film as a comic book, which really shows. It looks like a panel from a failed Ice Cream Man comic spinoff, which both makes me hungry for such an adaptation and incredibly happy that I'm the only one who owns one of these. If I wasn't the ultimate Ice Cream Man fanboy before, I think it's safe to say I am now!!
You can of course find Tom over at Shit Movie Fest, and you can see more of Christine's art over on her website and on Facebook. Huge thanks to both of them for adding such an awesome new piece to my growing Ice Cream Man shrine. Hey, we've all gotta have a favorite best worst movie that we obsess over a little too much!!
Hm, I should totally spearhead the campaign to get this movie a Special Edition DVD/Blu-ray release, shouldn't I? I probably should. If only I wasn't so lazy.
