One of the coolest things to show up on my Facebook feed in the last couple weeks was this amazing vintage style Exorcist lunch box/thermos set, which was created by Metaluna 5 Media. It's one of the coolest pieces of merch I've seen in some time, but the bad news here is that most of us will never get the chance to own it. Though the lunchbox is in fact something Metaluna really produced, and not just concept art as some have suggested, the lunchbox set is limited to only 73 pieces (Exorcist came out in '73!), and is selling for a whopping 300 bucks a pop. Yea, no thanks guys.
An equally limited edition poster was also created, with the same art as is on the lunchbox, but is also selling for the far too steep price of $199. 200 bucks for a poster and 300 for a lunchbox? Are you guys out of your freaking minds?!
I gotta say, I do not at all like this trend in the genre (and everywhere else, for that matter) of everything being 'limited edition'. Just because you've made something in limited quantities doesn't mean you should be ripping off fans by selling your shit for incredibly inflated and ridiculous prices. "Ohh, but this is the version of the poster with the red tint to it, and it's a Mondo poster, so that'll be $200!" Fuck that noise. You aint fooling me with this limited edition bullshit.
End rant.
So yea. This lunchbox rocks. It's just too bad I'll never ever in a million years carry my pea soup in its thermos or display it on my shelf. Oh well, at least it's pretty to look at!
You can see bigger and better pictures of the lunchbox over on the Metaluna Facebook page.

You are 100% right... about those prices. Crazy. But it is badass!!
Well said buddy!! I frequent your blog and you really know your shit.
They've went too far with the "limited edition" trend and far too many fan boys are falling for it and it shows no signs of stopping.
