2012 is proving to be a great year for fans of the first two sequels in the Halloween franchise, one that's a direct continuation of the first and the other that has absolutely nothing to do with either of them. Last week saw the much anticipated release of the two films on Collector's Edition Blu-ray, courtesy of Scream Factory. And next week once again belongs to the two sequels, with limited edition releases of their soundtracks, on vinyl(!), courtesy of Death Waltz Recording Company, a UK based label that was formed last year and is dedicated to putting together high quality vinyl releases of the soundtracks to some of the best horror, cult and exploitation films out there.
Let's take a closer look at what each soundtrack has to offer!

Liner notes by Alan Howarth & Brandon Schaefer.
John Carpenter and Alan Howarth managed to do something not many people have been able to do with their score to Halloween II. They managed to take the blueprint of the first films score and make it bigger, darker and nerve shreddingly intense. Synths wail and stutter as the score progresses to the point where you feel your head might implode from the oncoming onslaught. This score really should be played late at night with all of the lights out.
Ltd edition on Black & Orange colour in colour effect vinyl.

Main Title
Chariots Of Pumpkins
Drive To Santa Mira
Starker And Marge
First Chase
Robots At The Factory
Halloween Montage
SIDE 2
Hello Grandma
The Rock
Challis Escapes
South Corridor
Goodbye Ellie
You have to bow down before John Carpenter & Alan Howarth. Their score for Halloween III is so far ahead of its time it’s mind boggling. Halloween III is a tour de force of experimental synth tones, intense melodies and dark brooding mood pieces. This is one of my favourite scores of all time and I am honored to have the chance to release it.
This edition comes with all new cover art by Jay Shaw and features sleeve notes by Alan Howarth and Jay Shaw. The vinyl comes in an Orange & Black colour in colour effect with a 12 x 12 lithograph and a folded A2 poster of the cover art.
At the time of writing this, only 270 copies of the Halloween 2 soundtrack and 255 of Halloween 3 remain. Both can be pre-ordered right now, for $32.45 a piece, and the vinyls will begin shipping out one week from today, on October 1st. Go get them exclusively over at Death Waltz Recording Company!

Awesome. Gotta get my hands on 3.
The Halloween II cover art might be a tattoo. That is amazing.
