Friday Fun Fact!

Welcome to a new weekly feature here on Freddy In Space, wherein I will spew a random and fun little trivia fact every Friday...thus, Friday Fun Fact.  Imaginative title, I know.

Tonight's fun fact is brought to you by Silent Night, Deadly Night!

Did you know ...

Don Shanks, who played Michael Myers in Halloween 5, was a stuntman in Silent Night, Deadly Night, and he in fact played a role in it too?  About an hour into the film, when the cops are driving around looking for Billy, they spot a man dressed as Santa Claus climbing up a ladder and entering a bedroom window.  Thinking it's Billy, they bust into the house and point their guns at the man, who turns out to be a father surprising his daughter.  Don Shanks is the one who played the father, both for the window stunt and for the scene a few moments later, where the cops draw their guns on him!
Shanks was also the stunt coordinator on Silent Night Part 2, and in an interesting twist, served as the stunt coordinator for 2002's I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus!

Don Shanks also played "Nakoma" On "The Life And Times of Grizzly Adams" back in the late 70's.
